Rescuers describe Corey as an “odd” cat, one who relishes petting but rarely seeks out attention. He transitions from mellow to hyperactive in moments, and he comments audibly on the slow service at meal time. Corey’s $25 adoption fee covers neutering, identification microchip, vaccinations and deworming. Both he and his brother, Reo, are looking for homes. East of Eden is a nonprofit animal rescue group. Its volunteers are at Petco, 2888 Grant Line Road, from noon to 3 p.m. Saturdays. For information: 815-5186 or www.eoerescue.org.
