Engagement: Lazdins, Vuk to marry in Sarajevo

Jessica Ashley Lazdins, a 2002 Tracy High graduate, will marry Goran Vuk, of Sarajevo, Bosnia-Herzegovina, on May 26, 2012, in a Christian ceremony at a church in Sarajevo.

The wedding will be preceded by a civil ceremony required by law.

Jessica graduated in 2006 from University of Washington and has lived in Bosnia-Herzegovina for three years. She works in Sarajevo as the director of Bosnian student organization related to Intervarsity Christian Fellowship.

Jessica is the daughter of Dr. Andris and Susan Lazdins of Tracy and the sister of Derek Parker of Rocklin and Jennifer Lazdins of Tracy. She is the granddaughter of Carol O’Leary Harner and the late Dr. Robert Harner of Pace, Fla., and the late Arvids and Ilze Lazdins of Pleasanton.

Goran met Jessica while working as a counselor and heath educator with an outreach program in the same building as Jessica’s workplace. He also works as a chef at a retirement facility in Sarajevo. Goran is the son of the late Josip and Jadranka Vuk and has a sister, Andrea Vuk, and a niece, Ana Suznjevic.
