The foundation, a local philanthropic organization, doled out a total of $138,850 in 2011. Included among the recipients were the San Joaquin County chapter of the Red Cross, Boys and Girls Clubs of Tracy, Hospice of San Joaquin, McHenry House Family Shelter, Salvation Army, Tracy Interfaith Ministries and the Women’s Center of San Joaquin.
Foundation Chairman Scott Beattie said in a statement that it’s important to help people doing real and lasting work to improve their communities.
“Especially during difficult economic times like the ones we’ve experienced recently, we’re proud to be able to offer support to our nonprofits that work so hard day in and day out to help lift spirits and lives,” Beattie said.
