AC Milan takes second at CYSA President’s Cup

The Tracy United AC Milan under-11 boys soccer team traveled to the Cherry Island Sports Complex in Rio Linda on Dec. 10, 11 and 17 to play in the California Youth Soccer Association President's Cup.

Milan came away with second place after going 5-1 in the Division 1 event. It’s the third year of competitive soccer for the team, which includes players Miguel Angel, Christopher Barron, Ricardo Benitez, Julio Fuentes Jr, Tyler Gaudreau, Leonardo Hernandez, Juan Interiano, Zachary Kelsey, Estevan Murillo, Nathan Negrete, Carlos Oliva, Emiliano Olmos and Carlos Terriquez, and coaches Pedro C. Barron and Raul Olmos.

AC Milan won the opening game on Dec. 10, 4-1 over Fresno's Black, and then beat Elk Grove 5-0. Milan won again on Sunday, 4-2 over the Madera Scorpions and 1-0 against Santa Clara Sporting Green.

AC Milan arrived on Saturday, Dec. 17, for the semifinal against Mission SF Green, taking a 1-0 win to advance to the championship game, which was a rematch against Santa Clara Sporting, which took the 3-2 for the tournament title.
