Police Log: Cops nab home burglary suspect

Police arrested a 47-year-old woman following a burglary on the 200 block of Wisteria Lane at 12:22 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 15. The arrest occurred after a caller reported three men putting televisions into a pickup. Police stopped the pickup and detained the woman driving, but three others involved ran on foot.

All the stolen property was found in the pickup, including a pit bull puppy. She was booked into San Joaquin County Jail in French Camp.

Tracy police received 117 calls for service on Thursday, Dec. 15. The following is a sample of those calls.

12:01 a.m.: Police were called to an accident at the Extra Space Storage, 780 E. 11th St., after a caller reported a driver crashed into the entrance gates. Firefighters discovered the 54-year-old man had a heart attack. He was pronounced dead at Sutter Tracy Community Hospital.

7:34 a.m.: A caller reported a dead possum hanging from a tree near Eastlake Circle and Harold Smith Drive. The animal was impounded.

10:04 a.m.: A caller reported someone broke into his house on the 600 block of Palm Circle.

12:34 p.m.: Several online reports were made for graffiti vandalism at a variety of locations, including Lincoln Park, 170 E. Eaton Ave.; a bridge near Interstate 205 and Holly Drive; a bridge near 11th Street and MacArthur Drive; an onramp for Interstate 205, near Tracy Boulevard; and Valero a gas station at 2420 W. Grant Line Road.

2:19 p.m.: A caller reported someone broke into her car and stole her purse at the American Legion Hall, 1960 N. Tracy Blvd.

4:00 p.m.: Police arrested a 21-year-old man on suspicion of child abuse in the eastern part of the city. The arrest occurred after a school official called on behalf of a woman, who said her husband was beating their son. The man was booked into county jail.

4:30 p.m.: A caller reported a road rage incident on Lincoln Boulevard near Richard Drive. The caller said the driver in front of him kept slamming on his brakes in an attempt to get him to hit him, and when he tried to pass the other driver blocked him. Police talked to both drivers, and the lead driver said the other was following him too closely.

5:40 p.m.: Police arrested a 27-year-old man for an outstanding warrant on the 800 block of Palm Circle.

6 p.m.: A woman reported her vehicle was hit from the rear by a pickup when she exited the interstate at Grant Line Road. She said she stopped at a light and the pickup hit her. She said she immediately drove to the nearby gas station, but the pickup fled the area.

6:05 p.m.: A caller reported someone stole his laptop on the 100 block of West Beverly Place.

6:41 p.m.: A store clerk called to report a man stole tools form Home Depot, 2461 Naglee Road, and drove away. Police are investigating.

8:43 p.m.: A caller reported his mother was spraying his room with some type of disinfectant and won’t show him the can on the 800 block of West Ninth Street. He said she was laughing at him and she has a history of stealing his medication. The woman told police she sprayed the room because it smells.
