In Service: Airman completes basic training

U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Lemuel J. Cruz, a graduate of West High School, recently graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.

Cruz completed eight weeks of intensive training in military discipline and values, physical fitness and warfare.

He is the son of Hector and Sandra Cruz of Aurora, Ill.
