Longtime Tracy residents Aymon and Bonna Hall, married July 15, 1951, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this summer with their four children and their families.

The Halls exchanged vows at the former Methodist church on Parker Avenue, now Good Shepherd Community Church.

Aymon moved to Tracy at age 11 from Oklahoma, and Bonna moved to town at 3 years old from Nebraska. They met in school and were high school sweethearts.

Aymon, a former Tracy police sergeant, went on to become director of security at the Tracy Defense Depot before retiring in 1990. He was elected mayor of Tracy in 1978.

Bonna was a switchboard operator and also worked in personnel for H.J. Heinz Co., retiring in 1990.

The 60th anniversary celebration was hosted by their children and their spouses, Debbie and Mark Hollis of Tracy, Carol and Larry Scribner of Oakdale, Forrest and Paulie Hall of Tracy and Cathie and Bill Cummins of Tracy. They also have 12 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

The small party was attended by family at daughter Carol Scribner’s home. The family presented the Halls with a memory book of their life together in pictures, designed by a grandson and his wife, who own Ever After Photography in Tracy.
