Emergency crews were kept busy as they responded to numerous traffic accidents across town Monday afternoon, with two of the accidents tying up traffic on the roadways.

A car heading north on Chrisman Road making a left turn to head west on Valpico Road struck a fire hydrant and tree, shearing the hydrant off and sending a geyser into the air, which floded a section of the road.

The driver had minor injuries from the crash, which closed the westbound lanes for a time until fire crews could turn the water flow off.

Earlier in the day, a driver heading south on Holly Drive turned left to go east on 12th Street missed the lane and jumped the curb, narrowly avoiding the AT&T building on the corner. The raised concrete curb around the building and a shrub stopped the car inches from the exterior wall. The driver had minor injuries and was taken to Sutter Tracy Community Hospital.

Other accident calls reported a signal light pole on Valpico Road near Tracy Boulevard was knocked down in a hit-and-run accident. Emergency crews also responded to a two-car accident on Interstate 205 near Tracy Boulevard that included minor injuries to a person involved.

Classic modern artistry.

The commodity of resources.

Bursting geyser-like city water spraying high into the air, with emergency services crews (as seen in the foreground. Ironically the iconic namesake antiquated water holding tank standing solitarily, like an overseer in the background.

Good picture!

Driving is dangerous, but many are willing to take the risk. I am glad only minor injuries were stated in the incidents mentioned.
