West alumna seeks law degree

Emily Borman, a 2005 West High School graduate, will enter University of California’s Hastings School of Law in San Francisco in August.

Borman earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University in 2009 in developmental sociology, with a minor in business. She also competed with the Cornell volleyball team.

Since completing her degree, she has worked as a paralegal for a corporate bankruptcy firm in Beverly Hills. She hopes to work in environmental law.



Local to lead university TV station

Tracy resident Ryan Kelly has been promoted to general manager of the ROAR Network student TV station at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, where he will be a junior in the fall.

Kelly, a 2009 Tracy High School graduate, won awards in the Tracy’s Next Producer/Director competition two years in a row and has been consistently on the dean’s list at Loyola Marymount.
