Molly, a Labrador-pointer-cattle dog mix, is about 3 years old. She first encountered East of Eden rescuers as a puppy and was adopted out before recently returning. This sweet dog can be an attention hog — if anyone is getting petted, it has to be her — but she has good manners and wants to please. She whines when she is excited, which rescuers report is typical for her breed. Molly is still young and has lots of energy, so she needs an active family.

• East of Eden is a nonprofit animal rescue group. Its volunteers are at Petco, 2888 Grant Line Road, from noon to 3 p.m. Saturdays. For information, call 815-5186.
