Two bodies discovered in a car on a levee near Interstate 5 and Manthey Road today, June 3, have been identified as a Patterson man and his son, according to San Joaquin County Sheriff's officials.

The bodies of Anthony Lee Williams Sr., 51, and his 10-year-old son, Hussan, were the apparent victims of a murder-suicide, said sheriff’s spokesman Les Garcia. They were found inside a car parked on a levee just outside of Tracy in Lathrop by a security guard during a routine check of the area farm land around 8 a.m.

When the security guard found Williams unresponsive, he called the county sheriff’s office. Deputies discovered that the man had died from a gunshot wound, as did his son, who was found in the backseat.

Garcia said the Patterson man and his wife had been going through a divorce, and the shooting is under investigation. Notification of the death was made to Williams’ wife earlier today.

The levee where the car was found is located in the middle of an orchard area adjacent to Dell’Osso Farms, near J.B. Farms Fruit Stand, off South Manthey Road.

I'm not trying to prove his innocence at all, but did they dust the gun for fingerprints? You know you are innocent until proven guilty. This scene might have been set up?

I feel sad that boy lost his life. Life holds so much and it is a pity it ended so early in a terrible way.

Murder-suicide (especially your minor child) is the most selfish act of all time.

William's Sr. family must be so ashamed and disgusted that their relative could do this to his child.

I cannot imagine the suffering Hussan's mother is going through. I hope one day she finds peace.

LAM75 Channel 13 news reported that the gun was laying in the man's lap on top of the blanket.

It is so sad that a parent would take the life of their innocent child in such an act of desperation. Make one wonder if there were any signs from Anthony that he could have been sucidal.I can't even imagine the terror this child felt while the one person he trusted took his life. It might sounds sick but I can only hope the child was asleep and didn't know what was going to happen. I don't know this family but I am sitting here in tears, my heart breaking for this precious child Hussan. My heart breaks for his mother, his family and friends. What drives any parent to such terrible acts is beyond me. R.I.P. Hussan, you are now safe in the arms of Jesus.

Thank You for your comment shelly13. Now, my confusion is cleared up. I feel so sorry for the child. People shouldn't take their personal problems off on other people.

Channel 10 reporting that double-murder was ruled out and that eveidence at the scene indicates murder-suicide according to police. How sad that someone chose to take a young childs life because of a divorce.

OK. I wrote a comment on this article which was written different earlier. I knew there was no way I could prove to be "human" to enter my comment. Because of that, I copied my statement and decided to try again.

I tried again and a new article appeared (you are reading it right now!). In the previous article that said it was a murder/suicide case. I am totally glad they erased that from the article. The following is my comment I planned to put on the article they removed:

I think it is too soon to believe this is a murder/suicide case. Nowhere in the article said they located the gun. Both victims are dead from a gunshot, so where is the gun?
