Karate group hosts Best of the Best tourney

Castro Sport Karate of Tracy hosted its second Best of the Best tournament at West High on Saturday, April 23, as part of the Bay Area Sport Karate Association Region 4 series.

The day included sparring and forms competition for local athletes, plus kickboxing, team competition and demonstrations of martial arts and weapons skills. Tournament organizer Julio Castro said he had more than 60 people from his school, including first-time competitors, going up against Bay Area teams, and also against the Traditional Martial Arts Academy of Tracy.

Full results were not available at press time but will be available soon through www.baskaonline.com and www.castrosportkarate.com.
