Police Log: Man goes on roof for bright light

A caller reported a man on the roof of a house on the 1500 block of Bessie Avenue at 10:59 p.m. Tuesday, April 26. He said the man was breaking the lights on the roof. Police checked and the man admitted to going onto the roof, because he wanted to stop the light from shining into his yard. Police found the light was still working, but had been turned to face downward.

Tracy police received 154 calls for service Tuesday, April 26. The following is a sampling of those calls.

7:19 a.m.: A caller reported a burglary on the 2700 block of Reyes Lane.

9:43 a.m.: A caller reported a motorcycle rider doing wheelies near Balboa Drive and Portola Way. He said the rider was wearing a LSW Mayhem motorcycle club vest. Police could not find the motorcycle.

12:05 p.m.: A caller reported two strange men near Bankston and Tulloch drives, who were putting fliers on the doors of homes. They were gone before police arrived.

2:41 p.m.: A caller reported a purse was stolen from Starbucks, 2459 Naglee Road, on Monday. She told police the purse contained a Ruger .38-caliber handgun.

5:38 p.m.: A caller reported a man going door-to-door selling AT&T products on the 100 block of Finale Way. She said the man was holding a clipboard and had an AT&T identification card without a photo. She said when she questioned him, he left and walked toward Holly Drive.

6:11 p.m.: A caller reported a suspicious man with a small child in a pickup near Linne Road and Tracy Boulevard. The caller said the man was telling the girl to get down and sit on the floorboards. Police searched the area but didn’t find anything.

6:40 p.m.: A caller reported a loud was band practicing in a garage on the 1900 block of Pagoda Court. Police issued a warning.

8:13 p.m.: A woman called to report a man who came to her door on the 2900 block of Ray M. Guiterrez Lane claiming to be from her alarm company. She said he had no identification, but he was there to change her lawn signs. She said she called her alarm company, and they were unaware of any company representatives in the area. The man was gone before police arrived.

8:20 p.m.: A caller reported two sports cars racing near 11th Street and Corral Hollow Road, but he was unable to give a description of the vehicles.

8:52 p.m.: Police arrested a 38-year-old woman on the 100 block of West Street. Police were called to the house after a woman called to say her friend was being stabbed by his mother. She said the knife, a large kitchen knife, hit his gums and he was going to drive to the hospital. Police checked the house and found the woman and recovered the knife. The victim said he didn’t want to press charges. The argument reportedly started after he took a laptop from his friend. Police are investigating.

10:56 p.m.: A caller reported a dog barking constantly on the 1400 block of Vintage Court. Police issued a citation.

11:17 p.m.: A caller reported several people with golf clubs entered a vacant house on the 3300 block of Strawberry Place. He said they were damaging the house. Police checked and found no damage and a family moving out of the house.

11:40 p.m.: A caller reported an alarm going off at El Tapatio, 572 W. 11th St. Police checked and found no damage, but the circuit breaker box was opened.

um...climbing on your neighbor's roof to adjust a light? what happened to knocking on their door? if you are afraid of your neighbor...call the police for a friendly visit if you think that's the only option...I'd leave a note first though!

for crying in the rain...it's no wonder we have gangs...nobody TALKS anymore...we all just act like we're the only ones out there...
