The car, a 2010 Dodge, came back registered to Rental Car Financial Corporation in Tulsa, Okla.
Police logged 142 calls for service Wednesday, Feb. 16, including the following reports.
12:41 a.m.: A man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, possession of controlled paraphernalia and possession of a dangerous drug without a prescription at Trail 50 Mobile Home Park, 650 E. 11th St., after police were advised of loud music coming from a trailer. Richard Ortiz, 47, was booked into San Joaquin County Jail and was being held on $22,000 bail pending a hearing Friday afternoon.
12:59 a.m.: A man’s car at the Park and Ride, 2650 Naglee Road, had all its windows busted out. The man stated that the 1992 Toyota has been parked there for two months, and he would go pick up the car the next day.
12:54 p.m.: A woman reported that a man was trying to sell gold jewelry in the parking lot of Wendy’s, 725 W. Clover Road. The man had a handful of gold rings and necklaces wrapped in a handkerchief. The woman said that when she said she didn’t want to purchase any items, the man made rude comments to her.
1:10 p.m.: Vandalism was reported on the back of Party Warehouse, 505 W. Grant Line Road.
1:13 p.m.: It was reported that a woman’s purse was stolen out of her shopping cart at Big Lots, 2681 N. Tracy Blvd. The suspect was described as being a short man with black hair. The black shoulder bag had credit cards and cash inside, and was later found inside the store. The woman’s Chase credit card was missing.
3:18 p.m.: A woman’s vehicle rolled over on Corral Hollow Road and landed on its right side. The woman had minor injuries, and her blue, four-door VW Jetta needed to be towed.
4:08 p.m.: A person reported from Safeway, 1801 W. 11th St., that a male driver threatened to shoot the caller. The man got out of his small blue car to yell at the person. No gun was seen by the caller, who said the suspect was last seen pulling into McDonald’s across the street. The driver was gone on arrival.
4:25 p.m.: A woman was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting at Macy’s, 3400 Naglee Road. Christina Rice, 31, was booked into San Joaquin County Jail. Bail was set at $50,000, and she will be in court Friday morning.
7:21 p.m.: A person reported that a neighbor assaulted them at their house on the 200 block of Cedar Mountain Drive. The squabble was over plants that the suspect is allegedly killing on the caller’s property. The attacker was issued a citation.
10:33 p.m.: A teenager was arrested on suspicion of vandalizing a vehicle on the 200 block of Arroyo Hondo Circle. The teen, who was believed to be traveling in a black Escalade, threw a rock at the vehicle, and then headed northbound on Alamont Drive. The teen was arrested and cited.
