Police Log: Two arrested for SaveMart burglary

A man and a woman were arrested on suspicion of stealing from Save Mart Supermarket, 2005 N. Tracy Blvd., after police were called at 8:46 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 2. The woman put items in a bag, then the two made their way out of the store, heading south on Tracy Boulevard, before going to a home east of 20th Street, where they were nabbed.

Tawnya Walker, 43, was booked into San Joaquin County Jail on suspicion of conspiracy to commit a misdemeanor and robbery. She had a warrant for possession of a controlled substance and being under the influence of a controlled substance. Bail has been set at $80,000 pending a hearing on Friday afternoon.

Daniel Crane, 32, was booked into San Joaquin County Jail on suspicion of conspiracy to commit a misdemeanor and robbery. He had a warrant for driving with a suspended license and failure to appear. Bail has been set at $65,000, pending a hearing Friday afternoon.



Police logged 160 calls for service Wednesday, Feb. 2, including the following reports.



8:04 a.m.: A person reported a stolen car on the 300 block of Jill Drive. The 1992 brown Honda Accord was stolen from the location sometime during the evening.

8:31 a.m.: A person reported a car was burglarized at Feteira Way and Glazzy Lane. The doors to the gray 1998 silver Honda Civic were unlocked, and the stereo was reported missing. The registered owner confirmed their car was stolen, but no damage was done to the car.

8:49 a.m.: A person reported a storage unit at Public Storage on the 400 block of West Larch Road was burgled by an unknown suspect.

10:19 a.m.: A woman reported a rooster was in her yard near the 300 block of Tropaz Lane. The woman reported seeing a man take the rooster, then hop over the fence, saying “stupid chicken.” The man was warned.

11:39 a.m.: Graffiti was reported at Jewel Apartments on the 300 block of West Ninth Street.

2:36 p.m.: A person reported witnessing people smoking marijuana in the restrooms at Hoyt Park.

2:46 p.m.: A woman reported from Monte Vista Middle School, 751 W. Lowell Ave., that she was the victim of road rage. The woman said she was driving in the left lane, and a man who was driving a lifted Chevy Tahoe nearly hit her, forcing her to swerve out of the way.

3:34 p.m.: Four people were reportedly involved in petty thievery at Famous Footwear, 1005 Pescadero Ave.

5:13 p.m.: A gra, two-door Honda Accord was reported stolen at Park and Ride, 2650 Naglee Road. The car was parked there at 5 a.m.

8:01 p.m.: A woman reported that neighborhood children broke into her residence on the 900 block of West Sixth Street. The children, who entered through an open window, absconded with a watch and BB gun. The woman was able to get the BB gun back.

8:10 p.m.: A woman was arrested on charges of drug possession, destroying evidence and on a prior warrant on Briar Lane and Hawthorne Road. Andrea Quinones, 22, was booked into San Joaquin County Jail and held on no bail pending a hearing Friday afternoon. She is also being charged with petty theft and robbery.
