The major difference this year is that the annual cioppino feed will be named the Louie “G.G.” Galli Memorial Cioppino Feed, in honor of the Breakfast Lions member who chaired the event for many years.
Galli, a retired farmer and longtime member of the Tracy Breakfast Lions Club, died in July. In addition to serving as head chef for a number of cioppino feeds, Galli also was instrumental in constructing the Breakfast Lions Club’s trailer and used to serve pancakes and hamburgers at community events raising money for nonprofits.
Cioppino — crab, shrimp and fish in a tomato sauce — will be served in the Portuguese Hall, 430 W. Ninth St., at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 19, following a 5:30 p.m. social hour. Genoa Bakery French bread, salad and beverages also will be served.
Tickets, $35 each, can be bought by phoning Jim Solarez at 221-8811. All proceeds go to finance the club’s community service work.
