A woman in eastern Tracy, at 12:51 p.m. Monday, Nov. 22, said a man called her and identified himself as a special agent. He had all her personal information and told her there was a warrant out for her arrest. The woman told police she thought it was a scam and that the man seemed to have a “Nigerian accent.”

Tracy police logged 141 calls on Monday, including the following reports:

• 2:32 a.m.: A window at Orchard Supply Hardware broke when someone threw something through it. The hole in the window was “large enough for a person to get through,” but police didn’t find anyone inside.

• 6:17 a.m.: A caller said a stray dog with a leash around its neck had been “hanging around” near the 1400 block of Parker Avenue all weekend.

• 9:31 a.m.: A woman in central Tracy said her 15-year-old son was on the roof and wouldn’t come down, even though they needed to drive to San Jose. The boy said he would rather “do anything” besides go anywhere with her or do anything she says.

• 10:40 a.m.: A woman reported running over her own dog on the 700 block of Sequoia Boulevard, and the dispatcher recommended she take the dog to a veterinarian.

• 11:20 a.m.: Someone hit a parked car during the night, on the 1300 block of Sentinel Drive.

• 1:37 p.m.: A solicitor was asked to leave the front of Walmart, 3010 W. Grant Line Road, but refused to do so. Employees have asked him to leave before.

• 2:02 p.m.: A kid was arrested and released to his mother after he shoplifted from JC Penney, 3100 Naglee Road.

• 3:25 p.m.: A woman on the 300 block of East Mount Diablo Avenue said her sliding glass door had been kicked in, and there was blood and skin tissue on the curtains. Police arrived and found no damage to any door or window, but there was “dog vomit” on the curtain.

• 5:09 p.m.: A woman on the 1700 block of Duncan Drive called police because a drunken man was “passed out” on her driveway. Police arrested him on suspicion of public intoxication.

• 5:09 p.m.: A caller on the 1400 block of Yorkshire Loop said a woman was going door to door and asking people for money.

• 9:25 p.m.: A man reportedly choked his girlfriend in northern Tracy and then drove off in her parents’ car. The girlfriend was OK, but police found the man and arrested him.

• This column includes a sample of items as reported in the Tracy Police Department dispatcher’s daily log. Additional information is based on reports from officers and other law enforcement agencies. To report information anonymously about a crime: Crime Stoppers, 831-6847.

I am wondering about the "nigerian" accent. 1) what does a nigerian accent sound like? 2) How many Americans would actually recognize a Nigerian accent?

So she tossed him a fiddle and he broke out with "If I Were a Rich Man."

Why would someone report this to the PD? What did she think they were going to do? Dispatch a dog ambulance?

- At least he wasn't in the car. (You were probably expecting that comment from me?! :-) Happy Thanksgiving all!)

-Dog Vomit, huh? Personally, I thought vomit was just plain vomit. I am not at all cracking a joke, but the law enforcement is well trained.
