Monika Nicole Lynch of Burlingame and Pedro Jaime Teves of Modesto will celebrate their marriage Nov. 27, 2010, officiated by the bride’s father, Mike Lynch.

Pedro proposed to Monika in San Francisco, overlooking the city and the bay, after dinner at Fresca, the Peruvian restaurant where they had their first date.

The couple met while both taught at the same school in the Manteca Unified School District.

Monika was raised in Tracy and attended McKinley Elementary, Monte Vista Middle and Tracy High schools.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Mike and Jane Lynch of Tracy and the granddaughter of Les and Del Lust of Rocklin and Thelma Lynch of Ann Arbor, Mich. Her sisters are Chloe Lynch, a student at California State University, Sacramento, and Lindsay Lynch, who attends University of California, Davis.

Monika graduated from Tracy High in 2003 and from U.C. Davis in 2007, with a major in English and minor in Spanish. She is studying for a master’s degree in school and career counseling at San Francisco State University after earning her teaching credential during three years as an English teacher with Manteca Unified and one year at Tracy High School.

The future groom is the son of Ed and Rosa Teves and brother of Mimi Peek, all of Modesto. He graduated from Davis High School and California State University, Stanislaus, where he played soccer and earned a degree in communications. A history teacher at Lathrop High School, Pedro is pursuing a master’s degree in education through Brandman University.
