Two sport-utility vehicles crashed on West Grant Line Road this afternoon, overturning one and leaving the eastbound lanes of the road closed as officers investigated the crash.

At about 1 p.m., a Jeep Cherokee and a Mitsubishi Montero headed west on Grant Line crashed near Orchard Parkway, and the Cherokee rolled onto its roof and came to rest against the median across from Mountain Mike’s Pizza. The Montero's front end was damaged, but it remained upright.

The Cherokee’s driver had minor injuries and was treated and released from Sutter Tracy Community Hospital. No one in the Montero was injured. Officers investigating the accident closed a section of Grant Line near the crash site.

to TCY1...I do agree that too many of us can become distracted by cell phones with texting and talking without using ear pieces. Its ridiculous how many people driving (in SUV's and otherwise) do that stuff still. However, I own a suburban for the fact that it is bigger to protect my children in case a careless driver smacks into me. I don't feel bad for protecting my family in a vehicle that won't get crushed and twisted when another smaller car collides into it. I don't not care that I pay more at the pump either, my family is worth it.

I see alot of careless drivers and not all of them are driving SUV's.

Please don't put all of us SUV drivers in a bunch because I, for one, refuse to talk/text and drive. And, were are not all transporting "bangers" or running red lights either. :-)

Why is it everyone who drives an SUV drives like a maniac? I can't tell you how many times I've nearly been run off the road by these mooks, becaues they have an ego boost because they are several feet off the ground.

What is funny to me is how stupid some of these drivers are.

I'm sorry CR, did I miss something? I don't see anything here to laugh-out-loud about.
