Millions of American families are about to receive a multimillion-dollar sucker punch to the stomach and the wallet, thanks to Rep. Jerry McNerney, Sen. Barbara Boxer and the other Democrats who control Congress.
In the midst of the worst recession since World War II — and who really believes it ended last year? — McNerney and Boxer are about to allow a $3.8 trillion tax increase to take effect on Jan. 1, when the Bush tax cuts end.
According to an Associated Press article on Sept. 17, this huge tax increase will mean that, for a typical family of four with a household income of $50,000, their taxes will increase by $2,900 for 2011. Liberals want to hit everyone with higher taxes, not just the demonized rich.
This is the way McNerney and Boxer treat the middle class — body slams with increased taxes on middle class families, about $2.7 trillion in federal budget deficits for the past two years and 9.6 percent unemployment. Most Americans can’t afford McNerney and Boxer. Our wallets deserve hope and change, and not the kind we’ve gotten the past two years.

How have they gotten us out of anything? They've added $4 TRILLION to the debt and unemployment is static at 9.6%, and GDP growth is a limp 2%. Sounds like we're square in the middle of the recession after 2 years of Obama, and 4 years of Democratic controlled congress. McNerney needs to go.

How have they stood in the way? Congress has been in control of both the White House and both houses of Congress. Republicans haven't had enough votes to stop anything. Obama's problem has been not being able to get his own party in line.
