Services have been conducted in Washington state for Thomas Matthew “Tom” McClure, 58, a Tracy High School graduate and standout athlete, who died Sept. 25 in a motorcycle accident near Post Falls, Idaho.

Mr. McClure, born Nov. 28, 1952, in Casper, Wyo., was quarterback and captain of the Tracy High School football team and won Tracy Booster Club and teachers’ awards for wrestling. After graduating in 1970, he had continued success as a wrestler at the college level and, as a student at San Joaquin Delta College, began a wrestling program for Tracy elementary school children that continues today.

He earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees and taught at high schools in Oregon, Idaho and Washington state, where he was most recently a junior high school math teacher.

Survivors include his girlfriend, Leslie Busch; sisters, Donna Harp and Phyllis Vance; five nephews and six nieces; many great-nieces and -nephews; and former wife and friend Mary McClure.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Harold M. McClure Sr. and Lorraine Mae Hartman; brothers, Harold McClure and Charles F. McClure; and one nephew.
