Louis A. ‘Bud’ Levand

Lifelong Tracy resident and businessman Louis A. “Bud” Levand, 92, died April 12 at his Tracy home. No services are planned.

Born Aug. 24, 1919, in San Francisco, Mr. Levand graduated from Tracy High School in 1937 and attended College of the Pacific before his service in World War II. He earned the Purple Heart and Bronze Star Medal in ground combat and later was recognized as a Gold Circle Member of Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He owned Levand Chevrolet & Buick and Levand Auto Center for more than 40 years and was an associate member of the Tracy Community Memorial Hospital Foundation.

Mr. Levand is survived by a daughter, Paula Levand of Santa Clarita; a son, Jim Levand, and his wife, Tamara, of Tracy; and two grandsons.

Preceding him in death were his wife of 70 years, Betty Levand; a daughter, Ellen Georgalos; a sister, Mildred Bright; and parents, Paula and Jacob Levand.
