A woman called police at 3:51 p.m. Tuesday and said that a 13-year-old boy had pulled out what looked like a black handgun, possibly a toy gun, and had pointed it at her 10-year-old son in front of Traina Elementary School, 4256 Windsong Drive.

The Tracy Police Department responded to 238 calls for service Tuesday, including the following reports:

1:18 a.m.: A woman on the 700 block of Alden Glen Drive told police that she had arrived home to find her house had been vandalized. She told police that she believes her estranged husband had broken in.

1:43 a.m.: Someone on the 2700 block of Atlanta Drive reported a man had been lying in the street, apparently drunk. Police and an ambulance responded, but the man got up and left before they arrived.

1:51 a.m.: A woman on the 300 block of Acacia Street told police that her brother and another man had just returned from a bar and had been fighting with each other. Neither man wanted to make a report.

4:11 a.m.: A man called from a pay phone and said that a man and a woman walking along Clover Road near Holly Drive had fired a weapon at a passing car. The caller hung up without giving any further information.

4:42 a.m.: Someone reported a cow near Leprino Foods at the corner of Grant Line Road and MacArthur Drive.

8:12 a.m.: A woman told police that an elderly man in a Buick nearly crashed into her near the intersection of Corral Hollow Road and 11th Street as he changed lanes. She got the car’s license plate number and asked police to re-evaluate the man’s driver’s license.

8:44 a.m.: A campus police officer reported a weapon violation at West High School, 1775 W. Lowell Ave.

10:30 a.m.: A person at Williams Middle School, 1600 Tennis Lane, reported a weapons violation at the school.

11:12 a.m.: A man called police and said that his son on the 300 block of Acacia Street had just been confronted by two men who had threatened to kill him. Police noted that the call was related to a fight at the same address the night before.

12:42 p.m.: A person at Larch Road and Industrial Way told police that someone had broken into his semi-truck and had stolen a stereo. The caller added that someone apparently had disconnected the Freightliner tractor from its trailer, driven it away and then parked it facing the trailer.

3:31 p.m.: Someone reported a crash at Grant Line and Naglee roads. No injuries were reported but one of the two cars had to be towed away.

4:01 p.m.: A man told police that someone had stolen his credit card out of his car and had used it to rent space at a storage yard on the 400 block of Larch Road.

4:11 p.m.: A woman on the 2300 block of Ogden Sannazor Drive told police that a man on a bicycle had just stolen all of the bottles and cans from the recycling boxes at the side of her house. Police arrested him on warrants for previous drug paraphernalia charges and booked him into San Joaquin County Jail in French Camp.

5:27 p.m.: Tracy Chevrolet, 3400 Auto Plaza Way, reported that a 1993 Honda Civic had been stolen. Police learned that the California Highway Patrol office in Modesto had found the car burned and stripped.

7:09 p.m.: Someone at Albertson’s, 875 S. Tracy Blvd., reported a purse-snatcher in front of the store. Police checked it out but didn’t find the victim or the purse-snatcher.

8:55 p.m.: Someone at Chesapeake Bay Apartments, 2941 W. Lowell Ave., said that the driver of a Ford work truck had just left after crashing into another car. Police cited the driver on suspicion of driving on a suspended license and had the truck towed away.

9:20 p.m.: At least two people on the 1300 block of Pickford Court reported hearing two or three gunshots in the area, possibly from a large-caliber handgun.

10:26 p.m.: A woman in southern Tracy told police that she was reading her 13-year-old daughter’s diary and had found possible evidence of child molestation.
