Winds gusting to 25 mph buffeted trees and traffic signals around town as clouds and showers blew through the area.
Jack Davis of Davis Agricultural and Ranch Cleanup was busy trimming palm trees in the Tracy High parking lot as the winds swirled Friday, the second day in a row he’s been on the job. Davis said he regularly has to climb trees in windy and cold weather.
Using a lift bucket on Thursday, Dec. 20, Davis said he had ice forming on the bucket when was trimming the top of the 30-foot-tall trees.
As of 3 p.m., less than 0.05 inches of rain had fallen Friday according to the rain gauge at A and 10th streets in downtown Tracy. But the National Weather Service predicted off-and-on rain to wet Tracy through Monday, Dec. 24, with lows dropping to near-freezing Monday as skies clear for Christmas.
