Born in Sedalia, Mo., on Sept. 29, 1928, Mr. Dickerson moved to Tracy after serving in the U.S. Army, including a tour during World War II. He worked at the Central Club and then opened Bill’s Club. He later worked for Jesse Brown Trucking until he retired.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Ann Dickerson of Manteca; sons, Tony Dickerson of Monrovia, William “Tuey” Dickerson Jr., and his wife, Annabelle, of Manteca and Robert Leri of Truckee; daughters, Catherine Fuller, and her husband, Michael, of Manteca, Carrie Dickerson, and her partner, Mike Willis, of Portland, Ore., and Marie Taylor of Bronte, Texas; four grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Clarence and Lillian Dickerson; a sister, Ruth Johnson; and two brothers, Max and Jackie Dickerson.
Private graveside services are planned at Tracy Cemetery, 501 E. Schulte Road.
