The loss to the Flames of Lodi High put the boys at 1-1 in the San Joaquin Athletic Association, including a win Tuesday, Sept. 25, at Franklin. The Tracy High girls are 0-1 in the SJAA — the Lodi game was the Bulldogs’ league opener, since Franklin does not have a girls team.
Varsity boys: Lodi 12, Tracy 4
Lodi took an 8-0 lead in the first quarter.
Tracy (6-7 overall, 1-1 SJAA) was more effective on defense for the rest of the game but was unable to catch up.
Taylor Mellick scored two goals for Tracy, and Chris Kennedy and Austin Lowe each scored. Kennedy also had four steals, and goalies Vincent Mello and Chaz Samaniego had six saves each.
Varsity girls: Lodi 14, Tracy 2
Lodi took a 6-0 lead in the first quarter and continued to outscore Tracy (4-6, 0-1 SJAA)
Annie Foote and Sarah Agee each scored a goal for the Bulldogs, Allie Britt had three steals and an assist, and goalie Dallyce Marglon had 10 saves.
Junior varsity boys: Lodi 17, Tracy 4
John Legasa scored two goals for Tracy, Marc Anchartechahar and Sam O’Brien scored one goal each, Kurt Finney had five saves in the goal and Jacob Buckley four saves.
Junior varsity girls: Lodi 11, Tracy 1
Julia Coty scored Tracy’s goal and goalie Taya Dillard had six saves.
Varsity boys: Tracy 11, Franklin 7
Tracy’s 7-3 lead at the half served the Bulldogs well Tuesday, Sept. 25, at Franklin High as teams played a close second half.
Taylor Mellick led the Bulldogs with five goals; Chris Ramon scored two goals and had seven steals; Michael Motyka had a goal and three steals; and Anthony Singh, Aaron Knapp, and Austin Meyer all scored goals.
Chris Kennedy had four assists and goalie Vincent Mello had nine saves.
