Mrs. Rich was born April 28, 1927, in Howe, Okla., and raised her family in Tracy. She worked as a lab technician for H.J. Heinz Co. and later at the local defense depot, where her husband was employed. They moved to Manteca after retiring from the depot.

The couple helped build Tracy Church of the Nazarene, and Mrs. Rich led Bible studies for many years. She was also a longtime member of the Banta Horseman’s Club and Wampum Hill Trailer Village.

Mrs. Rich is survived by two children, Sharelyn Dietz, and her husband, Harry, of Manteca and Fred Rich, and his wife, Susan, of Oakdale; eight younger siblings, Herb Boswell, Bonnie McCrary, Don Boswell, Joe Boswell, Bill Boswell, Mary Sue Slayton, Pat Smith and Dan Boswell; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her husband of 62 years, Kenneth Rich; and parents, Roy and Ila Boswell.

Arrangements were handled by P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home, 290 N. Union Road, in Manteca. Burial was in East Union Cemetery in Manteca. Condolences can be shared with the family in an online guest book at www.plfryandson.com.
