A 3-D steel mural on display at the Tracy Transit Station, 50 E. Sixth St., has been given international recognition from an online art group.

A press release Thursday from the city of Tracy announced the recognition for David Anthony’s large-format steel artwork, “Field Spirit,” displayed in the lobby of the transit station. The artwork was honored by CODAworx, a global online community that pays homage to design projects featuring commissioned artwork.

The metal mural is one of several artworks that have been on display both inside and outside of the transit station since it opened in 2010.

The release stated that Anthony’s artwork reflects the cultural and industrial heritage of Tracy, including both agricultural and railroad elements in the steel design.
