Tracy doubles team gets to quarterfinals of SJS tournament

Tracy High seniors Chiara Adamo and Aubrey Boehm played through a close first match, but finished short of the semifinals in the Sac-Joaquin Section Division I tournament.

Adamo and Boehm came back from a loss in their first set on Thursday, Nov. 1, at Johnson Ranch Racquet Club in Roseville. They beat Kailynn Yang and Ceci Cajandig of Davis Senior High in the second set and to win it with a third-set tie-breaker, with scores of 3-6, 6-3, 7-6 (7-5).

Adamo and Boehm faced Alicia Alava and Vanessa Teves of Enochs High in the quarterfinals, and the Enochs team won it 6-0, 6-1.

Tracy’s other doubles team, senior Cassidy Dolstra and sophomore Camille McDaniel, were eliminated in the first round. Natalia Lima and Jillian Temple won that match 6-4, 6-2.

West High senior Emma Bell’s trip to the Sac-Joaquin Section Division I individual tournament ended in the first round of play.

Jessica Josiah, a senior from St. Francis High School of Sacramento, won the match 6-0, 6-1, on Thursday, Nov. 1, at Johnson Ranch Racquet Club in Roseville.

Bell, individual champion from the Tri-City Athletic League, finished her season with her fourth trip to the section tournament, and also joined her team to the second round of the SJS Division I team playoffs.
