Track and field: Bruins outscore Tracy on three levels

Tracy High was outscored by Bear Creek in three out of four levels on Thursday, April 26, in Stockton in a meet with split results for the overall Bulldogs team.

Tracy’s varsity girls (1-3 San Joaquin Athletic Association) beat Bear Creek 76-41. Leaders for Tracy include Taylor Juarez, who was first in the 100-meter hurdles, 1 20.16, and the high jump, 5-4; and Brittany Sansoni, who won the 1600-meters, 6:33, and 3200-meters, time not available.

Tracy’s varsity boys (0-4 SJAA) lost 83-52 to the Bruins. First-place athletes for Tracy include Justin Phelps in the high jump (5-8) Justin Woo and Nathan Arena tied in the pole vault (12-0), Nate Shelton won the shot put (40-10) and Fabien Monarrez won the discus (124-9).

The Bulldogs have one more meet at Chavez High in Stockton on Thursday, May 3, and then goes to the SJAA championships May 9 and 11 at Bear Creek High.

The frosh-soph girls lost 117-17 and are 1-3 in the SJAA. Kaitlin Spencer won the 3200 meters, 13:22, and was second in the 1600-meters, 6:09.

The freshman-sophomore boys lost 77-58 and are 1-3 in the SJAA. Top performers for Tracy include Davis Jenkins, who was first in the 110-meter hurdles, time not available, and the 300-meter hurdles, 44.56. Evan Savage was first in the 1600 meters, 5:03, and 800-meters, 2:16.
