This calm corgi mix is about 2 years old and would make an excellent companion dog. Stanley weighs about 20 pounds and is crate-trained. Rescuers recommend him for a household where someone is home frequently, as he prefers to be near his favorite person and will follow him or her around the house. Stanley loves to eat and go on walks, and he gets along with most dogs, though he sometimes chases cats if they run away. Animal Rescue of Tracy is a nonprofit, all-volunteer rescue group that has pet adoption fairs for dogs and cats on weekends in the Macy’s wing of the West Valley Mall, 3200 Naglee Road. The adoption center is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 11, and from noon to

3 p.m. Sunday, May 12, which is Mother’s Day.
