Tracy Youth Soccer League’s 10-and-under Thunder mini season boys took first place at the Bill Meyer League mini season championship tournament, played March 3 and 4 in Merced.
Tracy Thunder beat Stockton 4-0 on Saturday with goals from Salvador Morales-Larios, Christian Chan, Cody Cleary and Elliot Peterson, and also logged a win by forfeit over Calaveras. Thunder beat County Line 4-1 on Sunday with a goal from Benjamin Riley, an goal on a header shot from Christian Chan and two goals by Kyle Hickok to put the Thunder in the No. 1 seed for the championship against Manteca.
The teams played to a 1-1 tie in regulation play, with Carl Navarra scoring the goal for the Tracy team. Kyle Hickok scored early in the first overtime period, and the Tracy Thunder held on for the win.
Team members include Angel Lucatero, Benjamin Riley, Brendan Terry, Carl Navarra, Christian Chan, Cody Cleary, Elliot Peterson, Ian Braten, Jacob Burns, Kyle Hickok, Marcello Solorzano, Miguel Marquez and Salvador Morales-Larios. Coaches are Greg Terry, Miguel Marquez and Fernando Solorzano.
