Summer educational enrichment is being offered during the month of July for Tracy children hoping to boost their grades in failed core subjects.

The Summer Bridge Program organized by Give Every Child a Chance of Tracy features workshops in language arts and reading, math and finance, and enrichment in science and art.

Students in any grade are eligible if they received a D or S-minus or an F or N in any core subject on their final report card in May, according to Dawn Lambert-Fontenot, executive director of Give Every Child a Chance of Tracy.

“It’s one-on-one tutoring,” she said, and is intended to build a foundation in the subjects a child is struggling with.

The program runs 9 a.m. to noon two days a week — either Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday — from July 1 to 25.

To apply, a copy of the student’s report card must be turned in with a completed application and registration fee at the program office at 3402 Mars Court, Ste. 111, by 5 p.m. June 26, a Wednesday.

The registration fee is $50 per student, with a family rate of $25 for each additional sibling. Space is limited and admission is first come, first served.

Applications are available at www.gecac or by calling 640-7577.
