Softball: Kimball, West, Millennium all earn wins

The Jaguar softball team (13-4, 6-2 VOL) scored in every inning of a 13-3 five-inning victory over Sonora (0-12, 0-6 VOL) at home on Tuesday, April 17.

Starting pitcher Alexis Lopez, who is now 11-4 for the season, allowed three runs on five hits and had six strikeouts in the effort.

Anisha Richardson homered in the third inning and scored three runs in the game. Ariana Hawkins hit a solo home run in the fourth, singled and scored three times. Montanna Bradley doubled twice, including a two-run walk-off double in the fifth, and she also singled and batted in three runs. Kate Bomar had three hits and four RBIs, Danielle Lallos had two hits and an RBI, Llesenia Torres doubled, and Gaby Cox and Taylor Honnoll both singled.



West 11, Edison 1

West High scored four runs in the first inning, five in the second and two in the third to finish the game in five innings on the 10-run rule in the victory over the Edison High Vikings in Stockton on Tuesday, April 17.

Amanda Riley pitched three innings and gave up no runs or hits, facing just nine batters in the win for West (10-8, 3-1 TCAL). Kasey Cota gave up three hits and a run in two innings. Leading West at the plate were Ashley Tornio, who tripled twice and batted in two runs, and Ciara Ervin, who doubled twice, singled and batted in a run. Jill Anastasio had two hits and three RBIs, Jessica Anastasio had two hits and two RBIs, Shelby Weeks had two hits, Miranda Gannon tripled and Julia Ramirez doubled



Millennium 21, Stone Ridge Christian 2

Millennium High stomped the Stone Ridge Christian Knights on the road in Merced during California Athletic Alliance play, Tuesday, April 17.

Jaylyn Gutierrez threw had three strikeouts in one complete inning while Breana Reyes threw four innings, gave up one hit and struck out 11 batters.

Riquel Riveira had two base hits and five RBIs, Shyan Carpenter had three hits and three RBIs, Breana Reyes had three hits and Melissa Vierra also had a hit.
