Three local girls are bound for the U.S. Club Soccer’s national championship tournament this weekend after their team, the West Coast Soccer Under-15 Wonder, claimed the tournament title at the National Cup XIII West Regional tournament June 21 to 24 in Davis.

Tracy players Alexis Reddens and Erica Dias and Mountain House player Miciah Madison have contributed to the team’s success through three Tracy Orange Bowl titles and the 2013 Premier State Cup title. The team’s coach, Troy Dayak of Tracy, is also the founder and director of coaching for West Coast Soccer.

Wonder went 2-0-1 in pool play at the regional tournament, starting with a 2-1 win over Boca ’98 of Sacramento on June 21 and tying Argentina ’98 of Fresno on June 22. Madison scored Wonder’s third goal on an assist from Jessica Mahabali in Wonder’s 3-1 win over Freedom ’99 of Folsom.

Wonder played the host team, Davis Legacy ’99, to a 3-3 tie in regulation and scored two goals in the second overtime period to secure the regional title.

The team is headed to U.S. Club Soccer’s National Cup XIII Finals to play in the six-team under-15 girls premier group, the top level for the age group. Games start this afternoon, and the championship game is Monday morning.
