The body was discovered in the bed of a pickup truck by California Highway Patrol officer Shellie McCrary, following a traffic stop in the area of East Highway 132 and South Welty Road at 1 p.m. on Oct. 3. The truck was reportedly stopped for speeding.
Les Garcia, spokesman for the sheriff's office, has previously said that the pickup was occupied by two men and that they were detained and being interviewed by investigators. However, no additional information was provided and no arrests were reported by Garcia on Friday.
Investigators are ruling the death suspicious pending the results of an autopsy and toxicology report.
