STOCKTON — The sentencing of a former Tracy substitute teacher who pleaded no contest to child molestation and child pornography possession charges was delayed this morning as they wait for a doctor’s report.

The report, prosecutor Elton Grau said, would determine the likelihood that Jessie Llorente III, 39, would become a repeat offender after his release. Llorente, who had subbed at Kelly School, pleaded no contest to nine felony counts of lewd acts upon a child, nine misdemeanor counts of child molestation and one felony count of possessing child pornography.

Llorente’s attorney, Deborah Fialkowski, told San Joaquin County Superior Court Judge Franklin Stephenson this morning in the Stockton courthouse that she was still waiting to for the report to be finished.

Stephenson ordered the report at the Sept. 14 hearing, when Llorente pleaded no contest to his charges, which is akin to a guilty plea. At that hearing, Stephenson also said Llorente would be required to register as a sex offender for life. He faces up to three years in prison.

Llorente, who is in custody on $1 million bail, was not present at the hearing, which lasted only a couple minutes. He will be due back in court at 8:30 a.m. on Nov. 23.

Tracy police arrested Llorente on March 19. Police said at the time that Llorente became aroused while touching the hair and shoulder of eight girls he taught. When an officer went to the school to talk to him, police said in March, he admitted to owning child pornography.

I would like to thank the Tracy Police for removing these kinds of people from our community. I looks like an experienced cop got this guy to admit to his crimes... Our children are safer as a result.
