For several years, the lot was run by Boy Scout Troop 505. This year, the lot is privately run, but it still helps local Boy Scouts, who volunteer their time.
The lot’s operator, Harold Brunow, is an assistant scoutmaster.
Scouts working at the lot earn their sales merit badge and practice their knots and lashing skills as they assemble frames to hold a lighted tree in the lot.
Brunow’s lot is open from 4 to 9:30 p.m. Monday to Friday and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. It will remain open through Dec. 16.
