Born March 4, 1941, in French Camp, Mr. Garcia, 81, attended local schools, including Tracy High School.
He worked many years as an upholsterer and owned R&R Custom Upholstery for about 20 years.
Mr. Garcia was the men’s rehabilitation pastor and Prodigal Sons pastor at Christian Worship Center in Manteca and founded “The Barn,” a Friday-night church service. He also worked on prison ministry. He was a member of Tracy Southside Partners, a monthly breakfast group.
Survivors include his wife, Robin Garcia of Tracy; six children, Nancy Blea of Tracy, Anthony Garcia, and his wife, Roxy, of Neodesha, Kan., Rosario Garcia, and his wife, Vicky, and Joaquin Garcia, and his wife, Dona, all of Manteca, and Richard Quihuis, and his wife, Josie, and Vincent Esparza, all of San Jose; four sisters, Jennie Ortega, and her husband, Rudy, of Sunnyvale and Antonia Garcia, and her husband, Richard, Herlinda Hernandez, and her husband, Hector, and Victoria Payan, all of Tracy; 21 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Juan and Aurora Garcia; a brother, Marcelo Martinez; a brother-in-law, Ralph Payan; and a sister-in-law, Dianne Cohee.
A celebration of Mr. Garcia’s life will begin at 5 p.m. Saturday at Christian Worship Center, 786 Button Ave., in Manteca. Arrangements will be handled by P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home, 290 N. Union Road, in Manteca, www.plfryandson.com.
