Last week’s Remember When “mystery photo,” bottom left, showed the Tracy band Tease in December 1984. The band, composed of local musicians, many of them boyhood friends, played weekends in the Cascade Room of the Tracy Bowl and also for dances, parties and quinceañera celebrations in the Central Valley and Bay Area.

Phillip Valdespino III identified his father, Phillip “Junior” Valdespino, and other band members.

Band members, left to right: Gilbert Gomez on bass, Javier Carranza on timbales, sound technician Lee Anderson, Phillip “Junior” Valdespino on drums, lighting tech Charlie Zaragoza, David Taylor on keyboard, Johnny Amesquita on lead guitar, lead vocalist and choreographer Lawrence “Larry” Souza and singer Ray Gonzales.

Also identifying band members were Ray Fragoso, Matt Palomino and Suzanne Valdespino.

Five members of the band are still performing as members of Latin Essence.
