Last week’s Remember When mystery photo shows James McDermott Post, American Legion, in July 1972 receiving the California American Legion trophy for having the outstanding Law and Order program in the state. Left to right: Chief of Police Jerry Hodges; Elroy Cox, chairman of the state Legion’s Region 3 Law and Order Committee; France Johnson, past post commander; and Wayne Maier, post commander.

The local Legion Post continues to host an annual Law and Order dinner that honors outstanding public-safety officers in the Tracy area.

Today’s Remember When mystery photo shows a Tracy school in 1958 that was torn down a year later, in 1959. What was the name of the school and where was it?
