Today’s Remember When mystery photo shows two members of the Tracy Police Department with a canine in April 1990. Who are the officers, and what was the dog doing in the photo?

Last week’s Remember When mystery photo shows Bob Kenner, a longtime adult Boy Scout leader in Tracy, with four Scouts in February 1981.

With Kenner in the photo, left to right, are David Sparks, Joseph Sonnefeld, Keith Gleason and Bill White. Sherry Gleason recognized those in the photo, including her son, Keith.

Kenner, a retired blacksmith, was one of three grand marshals for the annual Boy Scout parade on Feb. 7, 1981. Kenner Park in northwest Tracy is named for him.

Yes, the dog in the police car is Cora. She was the Tracy Police Department's approved service dog. She was cross trained to assist me in street patrol and narcotics detection with a very successful career. I currently work for the San Joaquin County Office of the Sheriff as Sheriff Moore's spokesman. I often stop by Cora's Canine Park and remember all the good times we spent together giving demonstrations throughout Tracy at schools and service clubs showing off Cora's abilities...I miss her!
