Munch was recently rescued from an animal shelter in another town, and she’s a joy. She likes other dogs, loves to play with her ball and wants to just be part of a family.

She is good on the leash, knows commands, like sit, down and come, and she learned to use a doggie door in less than five minutes.

As we all know, border collies can climb over 5-foot fences, so when she is left alone, it is best to keep her in a yard with 6-foot fencing or taller.

• People for Pets has several other dogs and cats ready for adoption. For information: 933-6274 or info@peopleforpets.com or stop by the adoption fairs at PetSmart, 2477 N. Naglee Road, between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Saturdays. Munch will be there today.

Precious as a ‘pumpkin’

This week’s featured pet at the Tracy Animal Shelter is Pumpkin, an orange neutered domestic shorthaired cat who is 11 years old. Pumpkin would be a great addition to any home this autumn season.

Also available for adoption:

• Spencer, a 1-year-old white male spaniel mix;

• Kittens and adult cats.

• Tracy Animal Shelter is open from noon to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday at 370 Arbor Road. For information: 831-4364.
