He was born Dec. 25, 1946, in Tracy.
Mr. Ortega was retired after working 40 years as a heavy-equipment operator for Cemex. He had been a member of Operating Engineers Union Local No. 3 for 47 years.
Survivors include his wife, Debby Ortega of Tracy; children, Angela Kasek, and her husband, Bob Roy, of Manchester, Ct., Yvonne Ortega, and her husband, Leonard Rodriguez, of Manteca and Michelle Hernandez, and her husband, Jason, of Texas; siblings, Theresa Clark, and her husband, Cliff, of Portland, Ore., Rachel McDonald, and her husband, Neil, of Tracy and John Ortega, and his wife, Rebecca, of Stockton; former wife, Rosa Ortega of Manteca; four grandchildren; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
His parents, Raymond R. Ortega Sr. and Mary F. Ortega, preceded him in death.
Monday’s celebration of life will begin at 11 a.m. at Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 S. Central Ave. Burial will be private.
