A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for anyone with information leading to the arrest of the man who allegedly robbed a south Tracy bank on April 29.

Tracy police on Wednesday, May 8, released a surveillance photo of the alleged robber who entered Chase Bank, 2620 N. Tracy Blvd., Ste. 110, at 10:36 a.m. and handed a teller a note demanding money.

The robber is described as a black male about 5-foot-10 and 180 pounds. He was wearing blue sweatpants, a long-sleeved white shirt, sunglasses and a white hat.

No weapon was shown, and the man escaped with an undisclosed amount of money, according to police.

Anyone with information about the crime can call Detective Steve Flores of the Tracy Police Department at 831-6624.

Tracy Crime Stoppers is offering the reward money. Tipsters calling crime stoppers can remain anonymous.

Tipsters can call 831-4847; text TIPTPD plus your message to 274637 (CRIMES) or go online to https://www.tipsubmit.com/webtips.aspx?agencyID=1085.

PC, Let's see, should I trust your questionable sources such as Occidental Dissent or go with the CA DOJ? Hmmm, I choose the DOJ.

2002 - 2012

Black - 83,613

Hispanic - 170,626

White - 141,671

Violent offenses:

Black - 24,959

Hispanic - 46,362

White - 31,843

San Joaquin County:

Black - 1,773

Hispanic - 2,795

White - 3,036 - ouch

Violent crime:

Black - 666

Hispanic - 895

White - 830

Let me repeat, I have no problem with your it figures comments if you can back it up. I guess you can argue the validity of the DOJ stats if you choose but as is they at least somewhat put your assertions in question as I don't see the disparity you seem to believe exists.

You can also get into the percentage of offenses in relation to the percent of the population of certain ethnic groups, or find more reliable sources for stats between 2012 - current, the DOJ does not have those available yet.

If you pay attention I'm a proponent of profiling by law enforcement but said profiling must be based on facts.

Care to try again, I'm willing to listen & learn.

LMLM, Hammer? C'mon, not even close, you're not walking the path of Public Citizen are you?

PC, when you post "it figures" under stories about hispanics or blacks committing crime, I really don't have a problem with it if you could also post statistics showing most of the crime around here is actually committed by blacks & hispanics. In that case, "it figures" would only be offensive to people who do not want to accept reality. How about doing some homework and trying to support your "it figures" comments. If you can't do so then how about coming up with something else as your routine is getting rather boorish.

As for: "It figures, they all look alike." Bud, that asinine remark crosses a line and beyond question falls under a racist slur which is supposedly banned by TP so in this case they should step in and pull it.

I agree, that does not look like Hammer. I guess they all don't look alike after all.

Per your request oh mighty comment police BIB, your stats-

Juvenile stats by county- http://www.kidsdata.org/data/topic/table/juvenile_arrest-rate-race.aspx

US Stats-http://www.americanprogress.org/issues/race/news/2012/03/13/11351/the-top-10-most-startling-facts-about-people-of-color-and-criminal-justice-in-the-united-states/

California stats-http://www.occidentaldissent.com/2011/05/25/california-the-color-of-crime/

Tracy stats- although they do not specify race most people who have a sense of reality can do the math. http://www.ci.tracy.ca.us/documents/Crime_Trend_Report.pdf

As long as certain groups continue to commit crimes in our city and it gets reported by this paper, I will continue to post the obvious.

It figures, they all look alike.

I'm going to take that as you being and idiot and suggesting that by saying "they" you mean all bank robbers look alike. The weak ones always hide behind the computer screen. Grow a pair.

TP, I'd ask what it takes to finally remove someone like PublicCitizen from being able to comment, but on second thought, I like the idea that he's free to display to everyone, in a very public forum, what a complete doosh wagon he really is.

could this be the same guy?

I just looked at the surveillance pics side by side and it sure looks like the same miscreant to me.
