Tracy police investigated the death of a man on the 1600 block of Whispering Wind Drive early Thursday morning.

Dispatch logs from the Tracy Police Department show that an ambulance rushed a 32-year-old man, identified as William Rojas of Tracy, to Sutter Tracy Community Hospital at 12:31 a.m. Thursday. The San Joaquin County Coroner was called to the hospital at 7:43 a.m.

Police have not released details of the incident, though the dispatch log lists the man as a fall victim. It’s unclear if anyone else was in the house at the time.

Detectives and evidence technicians were called to the scene after the ambulance took the man to the hospital. Police talked to six other people for about 1½ hours after the initial call but did not make note of their relation to the man.

The Tracy Police Department received 177 calls for service Thursday, including the following reports:

• 8:41 a.m.: A woman at Sunnyside and Applebrook lanes told police that drivers, a person in a black Hummer in particular, constantly blow through a stop sign in her neighborhood between 7:45 and 8:30 a.m. She said that police were welcome to sit in her driveway to watch traffic.

• 12:05 a.m.: A man in northern Tracy told police that his wife and children had been gone since Monday, when the wife apparently took their children and went to her brother’s house in another city. He noted that he had talked to her brother, who said the family was fine. Police also noted that the woman had filed a domestic violence complaint against the man Saturday and most likely was staying in a shelter in another city.

• 1:38 a.m.: Police investigated an incident where a 2½-year-old child was taken to Sutter Tracy Community Hospital with a skull fracture. The child was then rushed to Children’s Hospital in Oakland. The child reportedly had fallen and landed on concrete. Police noted that it appeared to be an accident.

• 2:28 a.m.: Police went to South Elementary School, 500 W. Mt. Diablo Ave., for a report of a gang-related disturbance.

• 3:06 p.m.: A person at Tracy Express Wash and Lube, 2480 N. Tracy Blvd.,

reported that a man had just stolen the caller’s 2005 Honda Accord.

• 4:35 p.m.: Someone at West High School, 1775 W. Lowell Ave., reported that a teacher’s pickup had been vandalized and was undriveable.

• 4:50 p.m.: A man reported that a boy at Williams Middle School, 1600 Tennis Lane, had taken $30 from his daughter.

• 5:17 p.m.: A person on the 2100 block of Betty Lane reported that someone broke the caller’s fence, threw steel rebar into the backyard and tossed an egg at the caller’s window. The person said that the yard backs up to a bike path and that this is an ongoing problem.

• 5:21 p.m.: A man on the 200 block of West Lowell Avenue reported that someone took $30 from his unlocked car while he mowed the lawn at his church. A person about a block away called eight minutes later to report a similar theft.

• 5:38 p.m.: Someone on Elizabeth Court just west of Central Avenue reported a fire in a backyard.

• 5:40 p.m.: Someone at 12th and Wall streets reported two women, one with bleached hair, the other with orange hair, flashing their breasts at passers-by. Another caller said that one of the women had taken off her shirt. Police found them and noted that they were on probation, but declined to arrest them.

• 7:36 p.m.: Someone at North School, 2875 Holly Drive, reported three gang members who appeared to be selling drugs across the street from the school, where parents and children were attending an open house. Police checked out two people but made no arrests.

• 8:04 a.m.: Someone on the 1300 block of Lankershire Drive reported a teenage boy spray-painting graffiti on a trash can. Police talked to a 14-year-old boy and took a vandalism report.

• Jose Guerra, 32, and Kenneth Mitchell, 28, were arrested at about 8 a.m. on the 1600 block of Holly Drive on suspicion of illegal firearm possession. They were both booked into San Joaquin County Jail in French Camp.

• A 26-year-old woman was arrested in northern Tracy at 3 p.m. on suspicion of domestic violence. She was booked into county jail and released.
