Police Log: Tracy cops assist felony car stop

Oakland Police Department officers requested police from Tracy help them stop a Dodge pickup traveling north on Tracy Boulevard at 11:09 a.m. Thursday, July 19. The report stated a person in the back seat of the car was wanted for robbery.

The pickup was followed and stopped at Corral Hollow Road and 11th Street, near Safeway. Four people were detained, and a juvenile passenger was turned over to Oakland police.

Tracy police received 167 calls for service Thursday, July 19. The following is a sample of those calls.

2:52 a.m.: Police arrested a 28-year-old woman for an outstanding warrant near Kavanagh Avenue and Lincoln Boulevard.

4:12 a.m.: A 1996 Honda Accord was reported stolen on the 200 block of West Eaton Avenue.

7:50 a.m.: A 1994 Honda Accord was reported stolen near Adam Street and Highland Avenue.

8:17 a.m.: Someone on the 1200 block of Gwerder Street requested extra patrols after an egging incident in the area overnight.

8:22 a.m.: A car window was smashed overnight on the 1700 block of Ash Tree Way.

9:43 a.m.: Someone stole a man’s bicycle, video games and sports memorabilia on the 1200 block of Linda Place while he was on vacation.

10:58 a.m.: A woman in central Tracy said her boyfriend burned her the night before, but she didn’t report it right away.

11:14 a.m.: Several business owners said there was a man walking up and down the 2500 block of Pavilion Parkway yelling at people. The man was allegedly going into businesses and threatening the employees. He was gone before police arrived.

2:44 p.m.: Someone broke into a caller’s house and stole his belongings on the 300 block of Hull Court. He said his daughter heard a noise on the second floor, but she didn’t check and instead went to Livermore. He told police he thought she might be lying because only his belongings are missing: an iPad touch, Playstation and iPad.

5:22 p.m.: A saw two men tossing a kitten in the patio area of Sonic at 3080 Naglee Road. The caller said they were swinging the cat by its tail. Police checked and found no evidence of animal cruelty.

6:13 p.m.: A woman on the 2100 block of Carol Ann Drive said a man she met through Match.com was trying to scam her. She said she found out that he tried to do it with other people, too.

8 p.m.: A man was seen trying to break into a room on the 1200 block of Roosevelt Avenue. He reportedly had a shaved head and a T-shirt with a skull on it. He was seen banging on the door and then yelling at the people inside the room.

8:04 p.m.: An ACE official called to report passengers were trying to get off a train that was stuck on the tracks on the 4800 block of Tracy Boulevard. The caller said riders were not listening to staff, and some were getting off in the middle of the tracks. The train was reportedly moving again by 8:34 p.m.

9:10 p.m.: Police tracked down a woman via her cell phone location after she reported she was in a park and not feeling well on the 800 block of Tom Fowler Drive. She told police she met with a man she knew through Facebook and they smoked marijuana, but she left when she didn’t feel well. She was taken to Sutter Tracy Community Hospital for an evaluation.

10:28 p.m.: A man flagged down police and told them he was robbed near West and 10th streets. Police were unable to find a suspect.

Gee...I wonder if that's such a good idea of meeting strangers over the net and smoking some ganja with them? I dunno...maybe not.
