Tracy police received 142 calls for service Thursday, Jan. 19. The following is a sample of those calls.
9:27 a.m.: A recycling worker called to report a man came in to turn in recycled items that look like they came from a house at Valley Recycling, 24504 S. MacArthur Drive.
9:36 a.m.: A caller reported a trash container duct taped up near Arbor Way and MacArthur Drive. Police checked and found it was filled with used needles from a tattoo parlor.
11:50 a.m.: A caller reported two cars were broken into at a service at Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 S. Central Ave. The victims reported their credit cards were being used at local businesses. Police are investigating.
12:41 p.m.: A woman called to report her jewelry missing on the 1900 block of Bridle Creek Circle. She said she thought it was her sister-in-law who took it while she was babysitting. Police are investigating.
1:41 p.m.: Police arrested two people, ages 30 and 24, near Stein High School, 650 W. 10th St., for vehicle burglaries. Both were booked into San Joaquin County Jail in French Camp.
2:21 p.m.: A caller reported a man asking women for money so his family can stay in a motel near Walmart, 3010 W. Grant Line Road. He said the man was only asking women for money. He was gone before police arrived.
3:25 p.m.: A caller reported a woman screaming in her backyard on the 700 block of Glenpine Court. The caller said the woman had pit bulls in her yard and that she was holding a garden hose. Police checked and found the woman was trying to break up a dog fight.
3:54 p.m.: A caller reported a driver doing donuts near Ormonde Street and Thelma Loop. The car was gone before police arrived.
4:31 p.m.: A woman at First Class Audio, 1495 Parker Ave., called to report someone made an online purchase using her name and tried to change the name on her bank account. Police are investigating.
4:31 p.m.: Police arrested a 21-year-old man on an outstanding warrant near 22nd Street and Holly Drive. The warrant was for a variety of charges and drug-related crimes. He was booked into county jail.
5:17 p.m.: A caller reported the theft of narcotics at Heritage Place, 355 W. Grant Line Road. The caller said a FedEx employee delivered the drugs, an employee signed for them, but none of it was entered into inventory. Police are investigating.
7:26 p.m.: A woman called to report someone broke into her apartment on the 1900 block of Middlefield Drive. She said her laptop was missing. Police contacted the suspect, and he returned the laptop. The victim told police she didn’t want to press charges.
11:56 p.m.: Police performed a welfare check on a 54-year-old man after a caller reported he couldn’t reach his brother on the 1200 block of Adam Street. The man’s daughter said she would go over with a key and check on him. It was found the man was fine — he said he just got a new phone and didn’t know how to use it.
