Police Log: School locked down during police chase

Police arrested two boys after a caller reported seeing three teens going into a trailer on the 300 block of Portola Way at 1:06 p.m. Thursday, May 24.

The caller told police he saw one of the teens knocking on the door, while the other two watched passing cars. He said they then went into the backyard and, soon after, the front door was seen open. He said he saw equipment and a television in the front yard of the trailer.

When police tried to stop the teens, all three ran away. Police had North School locked down for about a minute while they searched for the teens. Two of the three teenagers were caught and charged with burglary. They were booked into juvenile hall in French Camp.

Tracy police received 144 calls for service Thursday, May 24. The following is a sample of those calls.

1:06 a.m.: Police received another prank call about a man with a gun from a cell phone near Lamb Alley and Lincoln Boulevard. Police checked the area and found no one.

3:29 a.m.: A window was broken at Farmers Insurance, 539 W. 11th St.

7:26 a.m.: Police arrested a 48-year-old man for drug-related charges near Alexis Lane and Grace Court. The arrest occurred after a caller reported a man going through trash and recyclable containers. He was booked into San Joaquin County Jail in French Camp.

11:09 a.m.: A man broke into a room at Motel 6, 3810 N. Tracy Blvd., and he was found sleeping inside. He was given a trespassing warning by police.

11:42 a.m.: A house on the 400 block of Racquet Drive was broken into.

12:29 p.m.: Stolen shoes were found on the feet of a student at Kimball High School, 3200 Jaguar Run. He told police he found them in the lost and found, and police reported there was no evidence that he took the shoes.

3:02 p.m.: A caller reported his Mercedes was missing outside Macy’s, 3400 Naglee Road. Police checked and found the man forgot where he parked it.

4:49 p.m.: Fence boards were being removed from a woman’s house on the 200 block of Renown Drive. She said students often walk through her backyard.

6:30 p.m.: A caller on the 1600 block of Badger Way reported his wife was being harassed by a man on Facebook. He said the man has been posting pictures of their family and himself, and he told her he plans to visit her in Tracy.

7:20 p.m.: A store clerk reported two teenage boys stole beer from Rite Aid, 1970 W. Grant Line Road. He said one took the beer and the other boy ran with him when he headed out the front doors. They were seen getting into a Honda. Police are investigating.

10:13 p.m.: Police arrested a man on suspicion of being drunk in public on the 200 block of West Fourth Street. The arrest occurred after a caller reported his 25-year-old stepson was yelling and causing a disturbance.
