Police Log: Purse-snatcher apprehended

A female was arrested after allegedly stealing a woman’s purse near Jack in the Box, 611 W. Grant Line Road, at 4:51 p.m. Monday, Sept. 19. The husband of the victim chased the suspect down Tracy Boulevard, past the American Legion Hall, and onto Bessie Avenue, when the suspect ducked into a building on Bessie Avenue. Police arrested the suspected thief on that charge in addition to another warrant.

Police received 160 calls for service Monday, Sept. 19. The following is a sample of those calls.

1:40 a.m.: A rock or some other object was thrown through the front window of the Sylvan Learning Center, 1190 W. 11th St.

4:30 a.m.: A caller reported someone driving a green sedan was looking into parked cars with a flashlight on Tennis Lane near Tracy Boulevard. Police couldn’t locate the car.

8:15 a.m.: South Elementary School, 500 W. Mount Diablo Ave., was reportedly burglarized over the weekend.

9:39 a.m.: A man was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor domestic violence in central Tracy after a woman reported the man pushed her daughter around during a visitation.

9:55 a.m.: A debit card that was stolen from someone’s car while parked at the Tracy Sports Complex, 955 Crossroads Drive, was reportedly used at a Unocal 76 gas station in town.

10:19 a.m.: A caller reported the window of her car was broken and her purse taken while she was inside In-Shape Health Club, 101 N. Tracy Blvd.

12:29 p.m.: No one was injured in an accident at Alegre Drive and Corral Hollow Road between a gold pickup and a silver pickup.

1:17 p.m.: Two citations were issued after police found three people arguing in an alley between Third and Fourth streets.

2:23 p.m.: A man was arrested at a park on suspicion of domestic violence after a woman reported her neighbor was beaten up by her boyfriend. The victim was bleeding from her nose.

2:46 p.m.: An employee at Raley’s, 2550 S. Tracy Blvd., reported an upset female customer took a swing at him.

6:07 p.m.: Graffiti was reported on the 2700 block of Holly Drive.

6:19 p.m.: Police arrested a man after a caller on the 1900 block o f Lone Fox Court reported her neighbor had just assaulted her husband. One of the two men sustained a sprained ankle.

7:48 p.m.: A caller reported a robbery near Holly Drive and Kavanagh Avenue. The man said men assaulted him and took his money, though he refused medical attention. The caller said that there was also a woman yelling not to call the police because the man is a child molester.

11:51 p.m.: A caller outside Cinema 14, 3300 Naglee Road, reported a 2009 Yamaha motorcycle had been stolen.

12:29 p.m.: No one was injured in an accident at Alegre Drive and Corral Hollow Road between a gold pickup and a silver pickup.

I guess the Bronze truck just didn't want to be on the same platform as the other two.
